Every year SHRM awards seven Pinnacle Awards. The awards recognize an innovative activity, program or initiative that transcends normal affiliate operations. Along with a monetary grant of $1,000, the prestigious award brings tremendous honor to a chapter. As a point of reference, there are over 500 SHRM chapters internationally.
Many of you are familiar with AHRMA’s volunteer leadership development program, Stepping Stones to Enhanced Leadership, that was piloted last year and is now in Series 2. The mission of this program is to develop future leaders within the HR profession. Earlier this year, your Executive Committee voted to submit Stepping Stones for consideration and – drum roll please…
Stepping Stones has been selected as one of the 15 finalists and will move to the second round. This honor is similar to receiving a nomination for an Academy Award. The winners will be announced at the SHRM Leadership Conference in Washington, DC on Friday, November 20th. We have a delegation of several 2010 board members who will be attending – so, AHRMA, you’re going to the Academy Awards!!!
It took a team of AHRMA members to make this program possible – visionaries, designers, developers, implementers, instructors, and, of course, the participants of the pilot and now Series 2. We applaud you all!!
