4th Annual Career Symposium

 THE COMMITMENT: 30 MINUTES on 2/25/2010
THE IMPACT: A LIFETIME

The Workforce Readiness Presentation committee is looking for volunteers for the  4th Annual Career Symposium at Region XIII Education Service Center. The volunteers will provide a 30 minute presentation on their industry and/or job type. The presention will be given to 12th graders from a variety of schools across the Metro Austin area.  The Career Symposium helps students decide on a career path and gives direct insight into specific industries and jobs.

Region XIII provides collaborative support to 60 school districts, 17 Counties, 18 Charter Schools, 19 Private schools, and 8 Institutes of higher education.  Their purpose is to aid teachers and administrators in their role as educators of our children. They serve as a liaison between the Texas Education Agency and the local schools districts and the schools they serve by disseminating information, conducting training and consultation for both federal and state programs.

The date of the Career Symposium is Thursday February 25, from 10 am – 2 pm.
