Career Development

Certification Committee:

  • Class Monitor: Coordinates class operations; must be present at all classes. The Spring Certification program begins January 26th. Tuition may be waived. (5 hrs/mth) Administrator: Coordinates communication among class members via email & on-line group (5 hours/mth)

University Relations Committee:

  • Chair: Manages the scholarship program & university outreach efforts. Building bridges with area universities. (4-6 hrs/mth)
  • University Reps: Need four volunteers, one for each of the area universities: St. Eds, UT, Concordia and Huston-Tillotson. (3 hrs/mth)

Mentoring Committee:

  • QA Rep: Contact participants monthly to ensure quality program. (2-5 hrs/mth)
  • Logistics: Coordinate and plan venue & food for two events during program (2-4 hrs/mth)
  • Marketing Rep: Develop and coordinate the marketing communications to promote the mentoring program (2-3 hrs/mth)

Career Development:

  • Chair: Job Postings and creating effective ways to support AHRMA members in transition. (4 hrs/mth)
  • Members: Support the chair (3 hrs/mth)

Communications

  • Photographer: Take photos during events and post them on smug mug site.
  • E-Blast Chair: Manage weekly and monthly newsletter- mostly automated, can do from anywhere.

Diversity

Looking for 5-6 volunteers who have a passion for diversity initiatives. Duties/responsibilities include:

  • Ability to attend local events/meetings related to diversity and inclusion.
  • Assist in the development, design and implementation of projects/programs.
  • Monthly hourly commitment is roughly 3-4 hours a month.

Finance

  • Accounting Clerk: Receive and review bank statements for discrepancies. Meet once a month at the AHRMA office.

Membership

  • SHRM Foundation: promote SHRM within our chapter
  • HRSW Champion: provide information for the regional HR event to AHRMA members
  • Greeting Coordinator: Coordinate available greeters for monthly meetings .

Programs (5-6 volunteers needed)

  • Speaker Coordinators: Assist with scheduling, logistics, and hosting of speakers for the monthly meetings and other scheduled events.
  • Bloggers: publicize monthly events through various social media sites.
  • Writer: Help produce Vendor directory for various events

President

  • Affinity Group Coordinators: Assist with coordinating, and marketing of small, quarterly events to sub-groups within AHRMA and the community.

Workforce Readiness -

  • Career presentations to children in classrooms (prepared material available)
  • Presentations to adult community groups to increase awareness of current volunteer programs and local efforts (prepared material available)
